The City and County of Honolulu purchased the nine hole Kahuku Golf Course as part of 114 acres of oceanfront land on Oahu’s North Shore, effectively preserving the area by preventing the development of luxury homes along nearly 4700 feet of shoreline.
The city run Kahuku Golf Course and surrounding land was purchased for $12.1 million from Continental Pacific who has owned the course and adjacent Kahuku Village property since 2006. The former property owner was the Estate of James Campbell.
The city that has operated the Kahuku Course since 1937 under a lease agreement has said it will keep the course open and provide improved public access to the shoreline.
The Golf Courses Division of the City & County of Honolulu operates and maintains six golf courses on Oahu including Ala Wai Golf Course, Ewa Villages Golf Course, Kahuku Golf Course, Pali Golf Course, Ted Makalena Golf Course, and the West Loch Golf Course.
