Held on April 9, 10 and 11 the “Hawaii Arts, Crafts & Food Festival”, is an annual event sponsored by Hawaii Arts & Crafts during Merrie Monarch Week. The Festival has been an island tradition for 22 years and celebrates the artistic and cultural heritage of Hawaii’s people, food and its environment. In 2015 the event will showcase over 100 of Hawaii’s Finest Artisans, cutting edge costume and clothing designers from Hawaii, woodworkers showcasing designs made out of koa, mango, milo, Designers of Hula Instruments–drums, ukulele, gourds and one of a kind jewelry made from every medium imaginable. There will also be food, hourly prizes, demonstrations and performances, making the festival an unforgettable cultural experience, especially when combined with the Merrie Monarch Hula competition and grand parade through Hilo town.
