Jimmy-Walker

Texas Two-Step

The people of Texas are a very proud bunch, and with the PGA Tour in the middle of its annual two week trip to San Antonio and Houston, the golf fans in the Lone Star Star are as revved up, as I’ve seen them in a long time! Why, because two of the absolute best golfers, on the planet are two of their own native sons

Jordan Spieth and Jimmy Walker share their Texas heritage, but that’s the majority of what they share in common. Jimmy is 36, and toiled on the PGA Tour for nine full years before he won his first tournament. In the last year and a half, he has won 5. Jordan Spieth, on the other hand is only 21, an already established superstar, and the fourth ranked player in the world.

In San Antonio this past week, Walker held off a hard charging Spieth to win the Valero Texas Open. Can he do it again in Houston this week and complete golf’s biggest Texas Two-Step? Or can Spieth turn the tables and capture his first win in Texas? Either result would make a whole lot of Lone Star golf fans real happy, and could be real fun to watch!
