“Well, the decision is in: no Arnold Palmer Invitational for Tiger Woods this year…a tournament that he has won no less than 8 times. The decision does not surprise me, and I like it, because at least on the surface it appears to be an instinctive one. Tiger’s instinct is telling him that he is not ready to go to Bay Hill and win the golf tournament.
Tiger’s status for The Masters next month is still uncertain, but when he does decide to return to competitive golf, I hope he plays the same way…instinctively. Over the last 5 to 10 years, he has gone away from the instinct he relied on early in his career, and focused more on pursuing the perfect technique in a golf swing. Maybe, just maybe, Tiger can go back to utilizing his tremendous instinct once again.”
